Samsung Launches MilkMusic Service and Brings Jay-Z and Kanye West to SXSW

Samsung has launched MilkMusic, an ad-free radio service, at SXSW. The music is curated by top DJs and industry professionals, and through an interactive dial, the service allows songs to be switched quickly and seamlessly. Users can customize the dial by adding preferred stations or by creating their own. MilkMusic is exclusive to Galaxy owners, and syncs with their Samsung accounts to save preferences and listening history.

To promote the MilkMusic service during SXSW, Samsung is hosting the Galaxy Experience, where attendees can take CrossFit lessons set to playlists, get fresh juices and snacks, and of course, see Jay-Z and Kanye West in concert on March 12, as well as other artists throughout the week. To get a wrist band for the concert, SXSW attendees with Galaxy devices are tasked to download the MilkMusic application and visit the Galaxy Experience popup lounge at 2nd Street and Trinity Street. Only users with Galaxy devices will be awarded wrist bands, and wrist band quantity is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Other musicians performing for Samsung this week include Janelle Monae and Gary Clark Jr. on Thursday, Broken Bells on Friday, and Cut Copy and Holy Ghost! on Saturday. Samsung has built a reputation for supplying headlining acts at SXSW. Samsung brought heavyweights Prince, A Tribe Called Quest, and The Roots to headline at SXSW last year.
